"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style "
By Maya Angelou
My name is Lorraine Miller and I was born in the cool hills of Battersea, St. Ann, Jamaica. I am a graduate of Northern Caribbean University where I majored in Management Studies, Marketing and Human Resource. Being an entrepreneur, I operated few small businesses while working nine to five in Corporate Jamaica. Currently, I live in the US. An opportunity came to me about obtaining wheelchairs, canes and walkers that were no longer being used in an Old Age Facility. I knew that I would love to send these items to Jamaica for the less fortunate.
Why this mission?
Many Jamaicans have become immobilized due to lack of quality medical equipment, for these items are very expensive. My goal is to ship gently used mobile items to the needy on the island. I also want to establish an infrastructure that will enable others to send and distribute medical supplies in a timely manner. I would like to provide assistance in this area of need.
How can you help?
I am asking for your help to defray the shipping cost. Any contribution is appreciated. Please support our Go Fund Me efforts as well as the Jamaican American Club.
